SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket launched into Florida's night sky at 1:50am EDT with Telstar 19v inside the payload fairing. The Falcon 9 ascended into the sky as an orb of light at the newly upgraded rocket takes flight. This is the second time the new Block 5 version of the Falcon 9 has launches and is the first time from Space launch Complex 40 (SLC-40). The first stage separated and began to prepare for its landing as the second stage powered its way into orbit. The first stage came down and successfully landed on the droneship "Of Course I Still Love You" positioned in the Atlantic Ocean. About a half hour after launch the Telstar 19v satellite was successfully deployed into the desired orbit, bringing the mission to a close.
Next up on SpaceX's manifest is the Iridium-7 mission from the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. This will be the first launch of the Block 5 variant from California and will be recovered on the droneship "Just Read The Instructions" (JRTI) off the coast in the Pacific Ocean.
